Mobile Charger Cables Reducing E Waste: mobile phone chargersThe European Commission is planning to force the mobile phone industry to adhere to a single standard for mobile phone chargers in order to reduce waste.

In an interview with Deutsche Welle, European Commisioner for Industry Gunther Verheugen said that he’s had enough with the ridiculous lack of standardization for the simple mobile phone recharger.  Stating that he’d rather see the industry develop such a standard voluntarily, Verheugen said that the European Union has the legal and the political means to force a standard upon them if necessary.

If you throwing junk mail into the recycling is a bit too dull, Proquo has a good list of creative things that we can do with all the excess paper ads that we receive on a weekly bases.  Most of the ten come complete with step-by-step instructions.
